How It Works
MentorMeMed bridges the gap between the known benefits of mentorship and the difficulties some learners have finding it.
We all work together

- A supply of mentors, commensurate with the size of the institution. Mentors are invited into the program based on a set of minimum criteria.
- Institutional reward for mentors who demonstrate meaningful participation in the program.

Our mentors are the cornerstone of our success.

- Mentors must meet the minimum requirements for participation as set forth by their sponsoring institution, in alignment with the recommendations of MentorMeMed.
- Mentors must complete and attest to the completion of the mentor training modules accessible on the platform before beginning a mentorship relationship.
- To preserve the quality of matches, Mentors must agree to mentor no more than 3 mentees at any one time.
- Mentors must fill out a comprehensive profile (including availability), which will serve as consent for their information to be searched for by the mentees in the database.
- Our data show that mentor availability & responsiveness is the most important factor a mentee considers when finding a mentor. Therefore, mentors must be responsive to requests for mentorship by the mentees. Unanswered requests will result in ejection from the program/database.
- Mentors may participate in scholarship related to data obtained from MentorMeMed platform. Any data requests for the purposes of research must be made to MentorMeMed and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
